Below table summarizes the core academic stats including tuition, admission, population, and more by U.S. State and territories. The average values are calculated based on the data from IPEDS, U.S. Department of Education . Due to the lack of data, we exclude less than 2 years colleges for academic stats such as SAT scores and tuition.
Next list shows the highest/lowest State in perspectives of key academic factors.
  • California has the most schools with 724 schools and Alaska has the least schools with 10 schools.
  • Rhode Island schools have the tightest (lowest) acceptance rate with 57.83% and Wyoming schools have the affordable (highest) rate with 96.00%.
  • District of Columbia schools have the highest SAT score with 1,252 and West Virginia schools have the lowest SAT score with 1,022.
  • Vermont schools have the highest tuition & fees with $34,263 and North Dakota schools have the lowest tuition & fees with $10,777.
  • California schools have the most enrolled students with 2,736,006 and Alaska schools have the least students with 25,692.
